Santa's
Observations
and they are some
very wise ones ...

Look who's coming!
Old Saint Nick himself!
Mr. Jolly is on his way,
along with the coolest
crew around,
the transportation team
of eight amazing reindeer!

"Excuse me! Don't forget Rudolph too!"

It takes a whole lot of work to get ready
for Christmas.
The logistics of all of it is mind-boggling.
Toy production,
route planning,
weather monitoring,
motivational speeches for the reindeer,
making sure Santa is healthy and
his cholesterol numbers are good.
It is enough to make his owls
extremely, terribly grouchy!
(I know, I know. You haven't heard about
the owls. Their publicity manager really ought to be fired.)

Delivering presents can often make for very long nights, even with lots of preparation.
The longest ones are the nights in which
Santa's worst fear is realized when ...
THE REINDEER LEAVE FOR A
PIZZA AND ROOT BEER RUN!!

But year after year,
presents are delivered successfully and
Mr. Claus is always quite pleased.
But sometimes his thoughts begin wandering to other matters, to things that have been wiggling into the corners of his mind.
What thoughts wiggle into the corners of his mind? Well, it was a few small questions
that sometimes woke him up in the
middle of the night.
For instance, why was the North Pole looking a little different than it used to?
The sea ice was melting more and more. Hmm. From what folks were telling him,
it was because of climate change.

And another thing Santa began wondering about was his food for the reindeer.
He shipped in all their food from places that grew the best alfalfa, grass, mosses, and carrots and apples (their special treats).
With temperatures warming up around
the world, would that make it a little bit harder for the farmers to grow them?

But you know what? Mr. Claus finally began to feel much better when he realized that there are many, many, many people doing lots of amazing things to help our world
get healthier. They are doing so very much
to slow down the melting of the ice and
to grow the reindeer food in the best
possible ways with the warmer weather
and in ways to keep our planet healthy.
And he also realized that there are
more and more kids getting involved in helping nature and learning about everything they can to make our environment healthier! That made him as jolly as
a reindeer eating an alfalfa and apple
and peanut butter sandwich!
So why not join all the many kids across the world who are doing whatever they can to make our big blue planet healthy?
It will certainly make Santa happy
and his sleep much more restful!

Word on the street is the owls
are looking for a new publicity manager!
