Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is

God's handwriting.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

In a world that seems to be always changing,
that sometimes seems to be a little upside-down,
there are some things that do not change.

the beauty of nature
the amazing miracles of our planet and the cosmos
the artistic charm of the ordinary things in our lives

As a photographer it is a wonderful privilege
to share images that remind us of the wonders
that surround us each and every day
and the timeless splendor that is in our world.

botany, bees, & bugs
(and a few geese)

exploring beautiful places

feathered friends & wild things

still life & architecture

wonders of the sky & water

something beautiful each & every day

Nature and beauty in photography, paintings, drawings -
they can soothe us, reduce stress,
refocus our thoughts, and improve our moods.

Neuroscientists have found that gazing at
a nature scene for 40 seconds or more
lets the brain's prefrontal cortex take a break.

And a recent study discovered that simply
looking at still images of nature can lower
our stress levels.

It's amazing how photography can capture
just a split second of something
exquisite.
