DID YOU KNOW . . .

THAT POLAR BEARS ARE
TOTALLY FASCINATING?
Of course you do! Duh! Everyone knows that!
But did you also know about these fun and amazing facts about polar bears?

A polar bear's skin is black! Who would have
guessed that! And their hairs are translucent
(which means clear) and are also hollow.
They do not hibernate. However, pregnant polar bears dig snow dens in the winter to give birth in
and for caring for their young until spring.
Each polar bear has a unique whisker pattern,
just like we have unique finger prints.
Instead they have "whisker prints"!
They can swim for days at a time to get from one piece of ice to another one. They can swim up to 60 miles without stopping! Talk about fantastic stamina!
A polar bear's adorable nose warms up the air
as it breathes. This is because their snout is long.
That long snout warms up the cold air before
it reaches their lungs.
Do you know how they get clean? They roll in the snow! Yeesh. A warm bath sounds much nicer.
A polar bear can run as fast as a horse!
Did you know that polar bears are just
one of many endangered species?
That means they are in danger of
disappearing forever.
Each one of us needs to do whatever we can
to make our world a safer place for them.
Little, medium, or big -
every single thing we do is important.
Find out what you can do to help!
All it takes is a little research!
