Liam the Lion
... and his love of learning
about nature!

LIAM
Liam knew a whole lot of stuff for a lion.
His head was full of all kinds of thoughts
and all kinds of things he had learned . . .
Scottish poetry, astronomy, how to make amazing French pastries and rebuild a
1957 Chevy Bel Air transmission,
quantum physics, renaissance art history,
long division, classical literature, and how
to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
BUT HIS MOST FAVORITE THING
TO LEARN ABOUT WAS NATURE!!!
Anything and everything about nature.
And there was just so much to discover!
Sometimes it made his head spin just thinking
about all there was to still learn about it.
But that was ok because he simply loved
everything about nature and how amazing it is!

SHELBY
Liam had a good buddy named Shelby.
One day Shelby asked him,
"Why do you learn all this stuff?
And what is so great about learning about nature?
Seems kinda weird to me!"
Well, one thing to remember about Shelby is that he is rather grouchy, usually seeing the bad side of things, always dragging everybody down.
But he did have a few good qualities,
like making delicious cookies for his neighbors
and being the best dancer in the jungle
and touching his nose with his tongue.

However, Shelby's question got Liam to thinking and pondering. He simply knew he just totally enjoyed learning about nature and it made him quite happy, but was there another good reason? He decided to go to his wise friend Albert and
see if he could help him figure out other reasons why he liked learning about nature so much.
Albert was well known in the neighborhood for being very sensible and enlightened!

ALBERT
What was Albert's answer?
The answer he gave Liam came from the wisdom of another Albert he respected and admired:
Albert Einstein!
He also was known for his intelligence and
deep thinking. Mr. Einstein said,
"Look deep into nature,
and you will understand
everything better."
In other words, all the amazing wonders and awesome stuff of nature will open your mind to see and understand so much of all the wonderfulness of life. Nature can expand our own ordinary worlds. It can help us to see there is more to life than what what we see only on the surface. It can make us want to learn more about everything. And nature can show us things which can lead us to finding answers to other questions we may have about other stuff.

So take some advice from
Liam and both Alberts ...
learn lots about nature
and look deep into nature!
You will be so glad you did!
